Own a Chevy S10 with extended cab - Converted to Electric - This is not a Hybrid or Fuel Cell, it's 100% Electric.

Range and Speed:

-          100km/hr top speed
-          80km range @ 50km/hr

It took me since September 2008 to February 2009 to complete this project. The truck was featured on the front page of the Tri-Cities newspaper in March. I chose this vehicle for it's nice curb appeal, the 3 seats and it's ability to carry the weight of the 20 x 6V lead acid batteries. Since March the controller has been upgraded from 500amps to 1200amps. This gives me the ability to climb more local hills and have better acceleration which I did not have in the original design. It is insured with ICBC as an "Electric" vehicle and is permitted to operate with the heavier weight of the batteries for personal use only. Also, Air Care is no longer required as per the new registration. There are some small rust spots and a little dent on the side of the rear box, something I was prepared to live with as you can hardly see it in the attached photos. I love this truck, it runs very smooth and quietly. The reason for selling it is because I enjoy doing electrical conversions and I am anxious to build more projects.
